attending this year's Expo to share your recent GIS project posters by displaying
them during the event.

- Best Project Presentation
- Best Analytical Presentation
- Student Poster Session
Poster Contest Guidelines
Posters must be submitted under one of the following categories:
- All poster entries must be submitted before Thursday October 6th
- All posters must have a label on the lower right hand corner, whether it is an index
card or part of the printed map. The label must list the category entered, submitters
name(s), organization, street address and email address. Poster numbers for "Best
of Show" will be assigned at the registration desk.
- Posters and easels can be dropped off at the registration desk on Thursday, October
6 and picked up late Friday afternoon
- Participants will have to provide their own easels. Please mark your easel so it
can be easily identified, eliminating confusion afterwards
- Judging will take place Thursday afternoon
- Category winners will be announced Friday at the lunch time
- The “Best in Show” poster will be announced during the afternoon break on Friday
- We ask that posters remain on display until late Friday afternoon if possible
- One poster entry per attendee
- No vendor posters are permitted: Note venders can pair with an agency, but the vender’s
logo may not be displayed
Contest Judging
Posters will be judged by a panel of your peers and evaluated on the basis of:
- Functionality
- Making complex data accessible - combining words, numbers and pictures
- Reflecting balance, proportion and a sense of relevant scale
- Containing a narrative quality and telling a story about the data
- No excess content drawing attention away from the information being presented
There will also be a "Best of Show Poster" voted on by Conference attendees.
